We are at a crossroads. We have purchased our huge California dream home. We as a family are a bit unhappy with the new small town. One child is incorrigible, another child had a tragic accident and is disabled now…and the others are coasting…cruising..somewhat happy. The thing is, while our house is huge, 4300 sq ft. It seems like just an empty shell

While I blindly chose this location. I googled affordable, safe place to raise kids, good school district. This town came up. What we didnt google was just as important. Things like climate, political climate, amongst others. Having been born and raised in SF, I guess I was raised in a vacuum. Many folks here are anti mask, anti vaccine, pro gun, and pro Trump. Is that so bad? Not really, but it is hard to mesh.
We are looking to buy land with acres, up north about 30 miles nad more in the mountains with picturesque views. I am not sold on any of the properties though because most will take a total renovation. While my husband says its doable. I know in my heart that we do not have the money. We are looking at at least 100K to bring the homes up to par. Here are some phots of the home the hubs fell in love with. It has over 60 acres and is on the river.

Whats good about this property is that here are two casitas so brings the total bedroom to 6. I definitely feel like I am stepping back in to the 70’s though when it comes to the interiors. The rooms are so dark and small. No walk in closet. Here is a video tour…what would you do? Would you let your husband grab the bull by the horns and make the final decision. Would you as princess move away from your 4300 sq foot castle? JK any how…thanks for reading. Just a little vent and life changing event
